Ducati Four-valve L-twins new generation the Panigale
After 11 years Ducati restyled the 4 valve L-twin Testastretta into the Panigale (2012).
Many details, like ultra thin closing camlobes, are used from the D16. The chain-driven camshafts is new.
Like the Toyota F1 engine we now see DLC coated camfollowers [camshafts are obviously not (yet) coated] which must reduce friction and bring higher performances. An automatic decompressor (starterhelp) is another valuable feature.
