Arnott (JAP)
In numerous articles and books the Arnott system is supposed to be the first invented and first patented desmosystem.
Sadly enough I never found the patenttext, but instead received a letter from the UK Patentoffice mentioning that the application was abandoned before publication and that the original documents would have been destroyed (see below).
